John had fallen into herding by accident. He was looking for whistles as a new way to train his beloved Border Collie Bonnie, when a herding site came up on his PC. An idea he had never contemplated before as he lives like most people, on a suburban house block. John & Bonnie took to herding like a duck to water, even though relatively new to herding has had rapid success within the sport. He regularly competes in ANKC and QWSDA sheep dog trials. Within the first 2 seasons of ANKC Trials he has taken a dog from never seeing sheep to the Advanced level of ANKC Trails, winning many "High in Trial", In John's first season John & his dog Bonnie won "High in Trial" in the ANKC State Herding Trials. During his second ANKC herding season John and his now 2 dogs have won numerous "High in Trial" & "Reserve High in Trial" resulting in his dogs being number 1 and 2 in these trials. Acquiring another couple of dogs John is now venturing into the world of 3 sheep trailing up against people who represent Queensland & Australia. His reputation as a trainer is growing, having been honoured with the task of training and competing with an interstate dog at the Australian National Trials being held in Brisbane 2016
